Biopics are big in Bollywood these days. After Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra‘s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Hansal Mehta‘s Shahid and Priyanka Chopra playing Mary Kom in an upcoming film, we now get news that Himesh Reshammiya, “is gearing up to play a suspended cop-turned-superstar, a character inspired by yesteryear eccentric actor Raaj Kumar.”
While there is little or no resemblance between the former star and the nasal crooner, we’re told that Himesh has actually lost 12 kilos to play the part.
If you must know, the film is tentatively titled, The Xpose.
A note on the film informs us, “The film is a murder suspense set in the late 1960’s when the sudden death of a female star plunges the film into mystery. Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh will be seen in a negative role inspired by a young composer of that time. All incidents are real and have taken place in that era when characters were larger than life and the industry was going through a change as the first sex symbol was introduced.”
We won’t be holding our breath to watch this one!
