Wearing a knit dress that made her look like a delectable mermaid, actress Sonam Kapoor walked the ramp for designer Mark Fast at a fashion event in Mumbai.
This three day weekend of glamour, style and high fashion was expertly choreographed and directed by Achla Sachdev.
Post the show, Team MissMalini cornered the two glamorous women to talk about fashion and working together on this fashion show.
Watch what these dazzling women have to say…
Here are some highlights from the banter shared between Achla and Sonam.
Team MissMalini: Achla, you have worked with so many stars over the years. How is Sonam to work with on a fashion show?
Achla Sachdev: I loved working with her. She’s terrible but she’s nice. And because she’s beautiful, she’s forgiven. Otherwise, trust me… not good!
Team MM: Sonam, what do you think about when you’re walking down the ramp with the spotlight in your face?
Sonam Kapoor: I think it’s just about having fun. And then I see everybody and I just want to go up to everybody and say hi. But of course, you can’t do that and that’s what I miss. But today I had a lot of fun walking on the ramp because I saw a lot of people and a lot of familiar faces and a lot of cheering.
AS: And a lot of cameras too…
SK: Yeah… I love the cameras.
Team MM: Since you have walked for so many designers in the past, what was different about this fashion show?
SK: You know, I actually only walk the ramp for my friends. I have not walked that much. But when I do, it’s for friends like Anamika Khanna, Rohit Bal and Manish Malhotra. So this is the first time I’ve actually done a fashion show (apart from IIJW) for a brand which I’m endorsing now.
Team MM: Which international designer’s ramp would you like to grace as the show-stopper?
SK: I think Jean Paul Gaultier, for sure! His shows are always such fun. I also love what’s happening on the American fashion scene. I love what Prabal Gurung is doing and Zac Posen as well. I like the new designers that are coming in.
But if I had to go for an iconic designer, then it would be either John Galliano or Jean Paul Gaultier.
Team MM: And finally, tell us about the films you’re currently working on?
SK: I’m working on this film called Khoobsurat, which i’m very happy about. I’m also looking forward to the release of Bewakoofiyan which releases in March next year. It also stars Ayushmann Khurrana.
