Known to be one of the nicest and most humble people in Bollywood, actor Imran Khan recently displayed a side to his personality that ended up with him being given an award.
The actor, who was shooting for Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, got very angry when he spotted a dog-trainer on the set, smack a dog. He went up to the man and pushed him, warning him not to treat animals inhumanly.
This act of kindness towards the animal has won Imran the Hero To Animals Award from the people at PeTA.
Says Sachin Bangera, Manager of Media and Celebrity Projects for PeTA, “We urge everybody to be more like Imran and speak-up for animals in distress. If it were not for Imran’s compassionate and quick action, the dog could have endured more abuse at the hands of the dog-trainer.”
