Oooh this looks like a fun one! Ali Zafar and Yami Gautam are starring in the upcoming Total Siyapaa, a romcom that centres around two people who love each other, and their very different families. Ali plays a Pakistani boy who goes to meet his Indian girlfriend’s Punjabi family at their home in London, and – as can be expected – there are fireworks when the family finds out he’s Pakistani. The film has been written by Neeraj Pandey, of A Wednesday and Special 26 fame, making it quite the departure from what he’s known for. This time, though, he hasn’t directed the film – that’s been done by Eshvar Nivas.
In case you were wondering, as many were in the Team MissMalini office, “siyapaa” can mean troubles/chaos. A fitting title, if you’ve seen the trailer! Are you looking forward to the film? It’s due for release on January 31st.
