You guys, I am so excited for this – Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will be on an episode of Koffee With Karan together! I’m really glad that the KWK team didn’t stick to overdone or obvious pairings (you know, Deepika/Ranveer or Priyanka/Parineeti), but instead put these two smart, successful women on the show together. It also helps that they’re good friends, and I don’t even need to tell you what a big deal it is that two Bollywood women (who have achieved similar levels of success) are getting along well. This is a true filmy womance, and yes, ‘womance’ is apparently the female equivalent of ‘bromance’. Urban Dictionary says it’s legit, and you should always trust Urban Dictionary.

So what’s the reason to bring them together, you wonder? I’m guessing the show is going to go with the peg of them both being successful Bollywood actresses who have delivered a number of hits and are part of the 100 crore club. But let’s be real, Karan Johar doesn’t need a peg – he can bring any two people on the show together and get them to spill some juicy details. In fact, I can’t wait to see what he gets out of Salman Khan now, since he’s even managed to bring him on the show. But that’s another matter entirely…

Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone

I wonder if the PC/DPad episode is going to be similar to the now infamous episode with Deepika and Sonam Kapoor, where they took potshots at Ranbir Kapoor and irritated papa Rishi. I doubt it’s going to be as catty – Priyanka doesn’t have a reputation for mouthing off the way Sonam does, and I’m going to guess that Deepika will be more careful this time around. So maybe it won’t be as cheeky, but hopefully it’ll be just as entertaining.

Interestingly, when Priyanka Chopra Instagrammed the picture of them on the show, she wrote, “Thank you Deepika Padukone for having my back.” Have her back for what? Any guesses?
