The atmosphere is India right now is so conducive towards resort wear. So much so, that the last fashion week of the year is completely dedicated to the genre. India Resortwear Fashion Week (IRFW), is set to kick off this Friday, and we can’t wait to see all the cruise collections. For all the jet-setters out there, this is the fashion week to watch for the latest sunny destination trends.
We caught a sneak peek of Turquoise & Gold‘s IRFW collection, inspired by ancient architecture, and exotic flora & fauna. The label designer aims to take us to a magical world with their experimental ideas and shapes. The collection is sexy and playful at the same time, and covers a spectrum of colours and prints ranging from subtle, to iridescent. In a move away from the acid brights of their collection from last season, they’ve introduced more subtle shades, like stone grey (inspired by ancient architecture), and smoky neutrals.
And they’ve kept bits of everything the label is known for in this collection too. Bold prints like sunsets and flamingos are used to dress up the ready-to-wear & swim wear collections, and take you away to whimsical & exotic locales. Jewel tones like mirrored turquoise, and luxurious fabrics like blue velvet, are all on display. Definitely looking forward to this show!
We expect to find cropped summer blouses paired with skirts. Their easy-drape Grecian dresses are a perfect choice to dress up at night, and the kaftans play double duty – perfect for taking you from day to night. Delicate blouses with rhinestone embellishment layer nicely over pants, and the short dresses & tunics feature little wisps of silk, designed to entice and lead astray. Silk capes and tassled throws float over uber sexy bikinis and monokinis, and hand-crafted jewelry & baubles add just the right amount of sparkle.
