Katrina Kaif

The song ‘Mysterious Girl’ was written for her

“I wanted a ‘foreign-looking’ girl reading a book on a train for the Fevicol commercial. It was going to be her first ad film but when she came on set she took everyone’s breath away. She did a fabulous job in theshot as she looked up from her book, gave a casual smile to the actor sitting oppositeher, and went back to reading. When she looks at the camera you feel she is holdingsomething back; you’re sure you don’t know everything about her. I think that mystique is her appeal.” Prasoon Pandey, director,Corcoise Films, directed Kaif’s first ad film, the Fevicol train commercial in November 2002

She’ll slowly get you on her side (it’s never failed)

“When I first met Katrina on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in Ooty she looked right through me. She doesn’t make the best first impression, but by the third impression she wins you over. What I like about her is that she’s very levelheaded about the fate of her films. She works hard on a film but the day it releases she puts it behind her. I find this quality very attractive. [As a friend] you don’t feel the pressure to constantly praise her work or comment on it.” Ayan Mukerji, filmmaker, has been friends with Kaif since 2009

She’ll have you at Checkmate

“Katrina is most distracting to work with—but for all the right reasons. She really is one of the most dedicated and hardworking co-stars I’ve had the chance to film with. But the biggest advantage of working with her is that she plays good chess, both on and off the board!” Aamir Khan, actor, is her co-star in Dhoom 3, which releases this month.
