Okay, so this headline is from 2011 back when Ready first released, but for some reason it has begun to do the rounds on Twitter again. Anu Malik apparently accused Pritam back in the day for copying Character Dheela from his song Mohabbat Naam Hai Kiska (Ajnabee). It’s the first time we’re seeing this headline in the Team MissMalini office, and you better believe that we burst out laughing – one, because Mohabbat Naam Hai Kiska and Character Dheela are, on the surface, two very different songs. And two, because it’s Pritam copying Anu Malik, when they have both been accused of plagiarism many, many times in the past (in fact, Karthik Srinivasan of ItwoFS.com has a running list, and Anu Malik is at 68 posts, while Pritam has 52 to his name). Crazy, yes? Now give the songs a listen, and maybe you’ll have a, “Oh my God, that’s true!” moment like we did.

Listen to the words: “Mohabbat naam hai kiska, shuru kahan se hoti hai, kiya kisne ise paida, khatam kahan pe hoti hai” and “Kudiyon ka nasha pyare, nasha sab se nasheela hai, jise dekhoon yahaan woh husn ki baarish me geela hai.”

You can’t really make the connection at first, since Mohabbat Naam Hai Kiska is a lot slower than Character Dheela, but the resemblance is there. In fact, it seems like Anu Malik couldn’t tell right away either. From that newspaper clipping that’s doing the rounds on Twitter, Anu had said, “I liked the song and called Anees [Bazmee] ji to congratulate him. Then I found out I was clapping for my own song.” *lol* Oh Anu, you never fail to make us laugh. 🙂

By the way, it’s actually kind of funny but Anu’s other song from AjnabeeKaun Main Haan Tum, kind of reminds us of the song, Who Stole the Cookies From the Cookie Jar?:

You know – Kaun main? Haan tum. Bas tum. Oh fo. | Who me? Yes you. Not me. Then who?

See what we mean?
