Good news for all the fashionistas! Marchesa has finally been launched in India. The Blue Bar at Taj Palace, New Delhi celebrated its 5th year anniversary with the launch of this luxury brand. The American label has been brought to India by Kitsch, a leading multi brand concept store.
For obvious reasons, the crème de la crème crowd of the capital was present to celebrate this occasion. The evening was a great blend for all the foodies and shopaholics as they were served with dishes like Malay Prawn Satay Spiced Lamb Skewers with Minted Yoghurt and Chilli Fried Mushrooms amongst others. Celebrities and socialites like Kalyani Chawla, Gaurav Gupta, Malini Ramani, Sanjay Kapoor, Jas Arora and Priyanka Sethi made the big night even bigger.
Marchesa is most famous for its high-end women’s wear and is based in New York, established by British designers and models Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. It is a favourite of Hollywood A-listers like Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway and Olivia Wilde and we hope to see it become popular amongst our celebs too.
Taljinder Singh, General Manager, Taj Palace, New Delhi commented, “We are delighted to celebrate five beautiful and efficacious years of the Blue Bar. A seamless blend of offerings extraordinaire, The Blue Bar is the place to spend an evening to unwind yourself over great drinks, fabulous music and uninterrupted conversations.“
Priya Sachdev, COO and Creative Director, Kitsch said, “Marchesa for me is defined by elegant eveningwear gowns that dominate the red carpet around the world, especially Hollywood. It is their beautiful and unique couture designs that make it the centerpiece on every red carpet moment. I am very excited for introducing their glamorous designs through Kitsch to India especially for our beautiful Indian women and the brides to be. They will finally be able to sashay around in these stunning gowns on their special moments. Feeling and looking like a star!”
The evening was successful in defining the elegance and charm of the brand with complete panache and opulence. The fashion followers are finally thanking their stars we guess. For all the shopaholics, the frequent advent of the high-end brands in India over the past few years surely seems to make the world a happier place! No?
