Spring/Summer 2014 is veering dangerously close and so, we’re hoping to ditch out stockings and bulky sweaters in favour of sandals and swing dresses. I have compiled a cheat sheet for the next season and if you can’t wait that long, these trends can totally be adopted into your wardrobe right now! Want to know which trends they are?

Cut-Out Detail Swimsuits:

Forget the monokini and keep that bikini in storage; the sexiest swimwear to pack to the beach or pool is the cut-out maillot that is bound to scintillate. Shivan & Narresh, Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary and Pia Pauro all showcased this trend on the runway. Remember to pack a sun hat and extra-large tote and you’re good to go! And don’t forget to flaunt your toned abs.

Sheer Panelling:

The sheer trend has been going strong for a couple of seasons now. This spring/summer, it is all about strategic placement. Want to opt for a plunging neckline, pick a dress with translucent panel dropping from the neckline spotted at Malini Ramani. I loved the floaty outfits that Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Gandhi showcased at their collection. Risque outfits can be toned down with translucent fabric. Choose outfits that have georgettes and chiffons.

Orange Hues:

It’s all about tangy oranges that you should introduce into your wardrobe. Pinks might be too girly but orange is perfect for balmy summers and punching up an all black or monochrome wardrobe. Not only does this colour look wonderful against Indian skin tones but it also pairs well with navy, white, pinks and greys.

What trend would you be adopting? I’m totally sold on all!
