For those who love Zooey Deschanel’s style are going to love this one. As we all know the “New Girl” star has a penchant for vintage and feminine looks that she sports in her real as well as reel life. Her style is often loved for its simplicity and quirkiness. The starlet is creating her own line of dresses and the collection is being brought forward to the masses through Macy’s, where she is teaming up with ace designer Tommy Hilfiger.

The idea for this collection came up at a party where Deschanel and Hilfiger met a few years ago and ended up sharing their views on fashion. Their views happened to be pretty much the same as they are both ardent lovers of vintage fashion. Eventually, the duo came to the conclusion of starting a partnership. The two are all praises for each other and the relationship they share.

Deschanel was quoted saying, “I am a fashion fanatic, and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe.” She added, “Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations – old-school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons.”

Hilfiger too was impressed with the actress and said that she embodies the perfect ‘Tommy Girl’ who is all-American and has a down-to-earth personality (Is that a rarity? Just wondering!). He said, “She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn for her sense of humour.” He added, “At the same time, she has a Jackie O type of chicness to her.

The collection features sixteen dresses in all and interestingly, she has named each dress after one of her friends (Wish we were her friends too.). The dresses mostly incorporate blue, white and red that are Deschanel’s all-time favourites. The collection is a part of the spring line and you can find it in Macy’s stores and on the Tommy Hilfiger website.
