A few days ago when my sugar craving was really kicking in, a friend and I looked up some healthy homemade cookie recipes. After baking a couple, we narrowed down our two favourites 🙂

1) Peanut Butter & Jelly Oatmeal Cookies

Cookies
Cookies

Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas (mash them up), 1 cup of uncooked oats, 2 tablespoons of creamy peanut butter, 4 teaspoons of jam (preferably low sugar content)

Process:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. First mix the bananas and peanut butter together, then add the oats and mix it all in. Use a tablespoon to place little scoops of the mix onto a non-stick cookie sheet. (Make sure to use cooking spray). Place the cookies in the oven for 15 minutes, or until they turn golden.

Once they are done, let it cool for a few minutes before placing ¼ teaspoon of the jelly in the middle….YUM!

2) Energy Bites (Baking without the oven!)

Ingredients:
Combine 1 cup oats, ½ cup of peanut butter, 1/3 cup honey, 1 cup sweetened or unsweetened coconut flakes, ½ ground of flaxseeds or chia seeds, ½ cup of dark chocolate chips, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 2 tablespoons of vanilla protein powder.

Process:
Once this is all mixed well together in a bowl, let it sit for 15-25 minutes… then the fun part begins—roll them into little bite size balls, that’s it! You can make enough to store some for later too!
