A day at the races is incomplete without wearing your formal best and a hat or a fascinator for that added dash of glamour and style.
The Derby, which was held over Saturday and Sunday in Mumbai, saw a number of style savvy socialites sporting some fascinating headgear.
Take a look:
Shamita Shetty wore a simple purple knee-length knit dress with rosettes on her shoulder, along with a large feathered hat. While we like the look, we think she could have done without the glares. They cover up to much of her face when paired with the hat.
Natasha Poonawalla wore an Alexander McQueen hat with a honeycomb pattern, and to drive the point home, she accessorised her look with a choker festooned with jewelled bees, also by McQueen. Quirky!
Choreographer Achla Sachdev made a style statement in a toga-style dress by Stella McCartney and a fascinator which was custom designed by Farzad Billimoria. Made up of colorful (fake) butterflies, this was among our favourite looks.
Designer Amy Billimoria sported a simple and elegant monochromatic look. While her dress was white, her black hat had white flowers and her footwear was in a black-and-white combination. Chic!
Accessory designer Rina Shah wore a dramatic ruched orange dress and a fascinator fashioned from black feathers.
