Arty Party

The Arty weekend is here! Visual Disobedience and Books on Toast have joined hands to bring to you ‘Arty Party’, an event filled with books, art, music, comedy and other fun activities.

This event promises to be nothing like other arty festivals, that are normally presumed to be high-end, in sterile galleries, with the crème de la crème crowd or hefty price tags for art. In fact, this one is going to break out of this perception and bring forward an evening dedicated to a good cause. There will be sale of contemporary artwork and merchandise by various young and aspiring artists that have been selected by the organizers themselves. A variety of edgy paintings, prints, miniatures, sculptures, hand-painted lamps and more will be at display and the best part is that all of it will be available at affordable prices.

Books on Toast, is a book-donation drive, the proceeds of which go to charity. They will be selling about a 1000 second-hand books. The organizers make sure that the books are in a close-to-original, re-saleable condition since there are strict quality measures taken by them. The books are not going be magazines or educational books, but mostly mainstream ones. Also, finding books like Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey is going to be a rarity.

The event will host workshops and DIYs for those who are interested. The pop-rock band ‘Spud In The Box’ will also entertain the crowd with acoustic performances by Rohan and Ankit. Among other such fun happenings, artist Nishith Mehta will be making live sketches for the on-lookers. Popular stand-up comedian Ashish Shakya is all set to tickle your funny bone with his witty humour and will be hosting the Pub Quiz. To take a part in this quiz, here’s what you need to do:
