Hi everyone – I’m MissMalini’s friend Lavi Kilaru and am blogging from the LoveGold House in Los Angeles during this exciting pre-Oscar week! We kicked it off with a fabulous cocktail party held in honor of this year’s Oscar darling and it-girl Lupita Nyong’o. Ms. Nyong’o is nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her heartbreaking and raw performance as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave.
And the most amazing part is – this is her first major feature film! So it’s no surprise that tonight’s event was an exciting and sparkly evening put together by LoveGold House at the legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel’s private event space.
The crowd was thrilled to be a part of celebrating this young woman whose meteoric rise has caught all of Hollywood’s attention. And it’s not just because of her powerful and challenging breakout performance. She is already being looked upon as a fashion icon for her impeccable and elegant fashion choices both on and off the red carpet. That night, she stunned in a chic purple Stella McCartney dress.

After we were all done clamouring for the guest of honor’s attention, the guests got to enjoy some serious eye candy – dazzling arrangements dripping with one of a kind gold pieces from designers around the world. Check out some of my favourites below!

All this ogling made me pretty hungry, so luckily there were plenty of delicious appetisers like canapés and tuna tartars on cucumber going around. And copious amounts of champagne of course ☺ what kind of celebration would it be without it!
