Earlier today, we told you about the media reports that Ranveer Singh will be playing a different role in Zoya Akhtar‘s next, Dil Dhadakne Do, and will therefore not be shooting for any other project for over four months, just to keep his look under wraps. However, the actor’s spokesperson has just issued a statement saying that this is untrue, and there is no exclusivity clause in his contract.
Ranveer Singh says:
I’m super excited to work with Zoya as I believe she’s one of the most talented directors in the industry. Moreover it’s a part that really pushes me as an actor and gives me a chance to showcase an aspect of my performance that will surprise my fans.
Ranveer’s spokesperson says he is expected to shoot for any where between 75 to 80 days, out of the 90 days total shooting. However, he can do other work while he shoots for this film, and it seems that he has agreed to do some endorsements. He’s usually quite fussy about this, but he has signed some brands on, and Excel seems to be allowing him the time to shoot for them. Apparently, they have worked around not only their, but his co-stars’ schedules as well, just to help accommodate him – turns out, most brands want to shoot with him again for follow up campaigns in the big festive season.
So while Ranveer does indeed have a major role in this film, he will be allowed to do other work even while shooting for it. The film is expected to begin in May, for a June 5th, 2015 release.
