Nikhil Thampi has had a meteoric rise to fame and his latest show at LFW further cements his position as a rising star in the Indian Fashion Industry. His latest offering, Untamed was unabashedly sexy – it was for the woman who didn’t have to try too hard to be sensual.
The collection started off in virginal whites – tuxedos, jackets that had cut-out details at the rib cage and sharp tailoring.
It then progressed to browns and finally brighter hues such as tangerines, deep blues, reds and blush pinks.
Favouring exposed zippers as a design element, the piece of resistance was the zipper-strap gown that was worn by Kanishta as she closed his magnificent show. Metallic roses ran through the entire line – in the form of embellishments or adornments on the accessories.
Sitting front row was Vogue Fashion Director, Anaita Shroff Adajania who wore a custom made outfit. Ashiesh Shah, Anushka Manchanda and Shonali Nagrani too were spotted wearing his outfits.
