Oh my dear blog, how I have missed you! Why so mushy? Well in case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been running around like a headless chicken hosting LIVE Google+ hangouts and shooting shampoo videos and basically going TOTALLY insane for the past two weeks! So much so that I’ve barely had time to blog myself, boo 🙁 BUT now that I’m finally getting some me-&-my-MacBook time I’ve decided to flashback Lakmé Fashion Week for you with all the things Team MissMalini & I loved, yay! xoxo

1. Hanging OUT AT LFW

I had the BEST time hosting LIVE Google+ hangouts at LFW, complete with a fabulous (and epically breezy) vantage point to watch all the fashion peeps parading around!

So many of my favourite designers & models stopped by to hangout with me and even sketched the MissMalini anime a brand new Summer/Resort 2014 wardrobe!

Psst! In case you missed ANY of the action, you can watch ALL my hangouts here or in the playlist below:

(And I was SO not kidding about the “epically breezy!” *LOL*)

2. Oh Meri Catwalk!

Ok, I must admit I got a TOTAL kick out of being in Mandira Bedi’s debut show at LFW!

She put me in this gorgeous blue sari and I got draped by the talented Kalpana Shah again. (Kalpana has even writing a book about sari draping called The Whole Nine Yards btw.)

Now here’s what you didn’t see! I got a crash course in posing via WhatsApp right before the show courtesy my awesome fashion team which totally helped!

3. Friends in Fashion.

I was personally VERY excited to see so many of my talented friends (who I’ve watched start practically from scratch) make their LFW debut this season. Four that I am particularly proud of are: Junelia Aguiar, Kresha Bajaj (Koëcsh VIK), Payal Khandwala and Shubhika Sharma Papa Don’t Preach.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with and even wearing some of their clothes time and again and I can safely say these girls are making MEGA waves, to the moon ladies!

4. RUNWAY #Selfie!

Team MissMalini fell in love with the #geekchic #Selfie statement tees by Huemn – all the rage this Spring/Summer 2014! We also loved Huemn’s selfie sweatshirt that needs to make its way into our wardrobes STAT.

5. FASHION FROM OUTER SPACE.

The collaboration between Gaurav Gupta & Mawi was a stunning visual delight. Plus the spaceship-like installation suspended mid-ramp added to the theatrics! Now if only “they” made contact, Miss Universe would have a whole new meaning – AND a runway ready wardrobe 🙂

6. VIRTUAL COCKTAIL XO!

Did you catch my first ever virtual cocktail party for POPxo? It was SUPER fun and I blogged ALL about it over here 🙂

7. STYLIST LOVE.

We also LOVED the sheer love for Aki Narula on the POPxo’s wall of style 🙂

8. FASHION’s REAL FRONT ROW!

Clearly these guys had the best seats in the house 😛

Although I think Bandana Tewari kills it in this photo 🙂 so chic!

9. The ILLUMINATI.

Rajesh Pratap Singh‘s finale was breath-taking. The illuminated opening was possibly our favourite EVER at a fashion week.

10. EYE SEE YOU.

And how cool was the mirrored disc eyewear created by RPS for his finale? (I hope you’re keeping these Gautam Kalra!)

11. Playing dress up.

I had a fabulous time rocking my designer-wear at LFW. (Thank you stylist!) According to Marv D’Souza these were his favourite three, do you agree? 🙂

12. FashIon’s Original Peeps.

As famed fashion photog Bill Cunningham once said, “The best fashion show is definitely on the street. Always has been, and always will be.” Very often the people really worth watching at fashion week are in the hallways 🙂

Which is why my fashion team had a blast tracking down the most original peeps for MissMalini’s Original Hall Of Fame courtesy Stoli! They each got a bottle of the most original vodka in exchange for sharing the secrets to their original style 🙂

13. BandraRoad

We even launched MissMalini’s association with the soon-to-be hottest new Street Style brand on the block called BandraRoad curated by Surelee Joseph and Marv D’Souza. Woo-hoo!

So there you have it, fashion week in a nutshell and much love till my next Google hangout 😛 xoxo
