It seems like while Sanjay Dutt was out of jail on parole, much more was happening than just pujas at their home. If the current buzz is to be believed, then the actor was in discussion with some other talented names within the industry to create a movie based on his life. Apparently, it was Sanjay’s wife, Manyata, who was keen on having a film made on her husband’s life. However, they were adamant that only Rajkumar Hirani should be the one to make this movie – after all, Sanjay has been very close to the director since they delivered the two hit Munnabhai films together.
Apparently, Ranbir Kapoor, who is a self-proclaimed Sanjay Dutt fan, has already agreed to do this role. However, it will be some time before this project takes off, as Hirani first has to wrap up P.K. Once that is done, he can begin his research and start putting the project together.
Still, there has been no official confirmation from any of the parties involved as of yet. Director Mahesh Bhatt, who is quite close to Sanjay, claims that there was no discussion of any such project when they met up. We’ll wait to hear more, but let us know if a film on Sanjay Dutt’s life is something you would like to watch (he has a fairly colourful history, after all)… and whether Ranbir Kapoor is the best person to play him in the film!
