Day 2 of the Beauty And The Blogger shoot turned out to be an adventurous affair. The bloggers and the beauties were all set to perform an obstacle task. Things got muddy, wet and definitely glamourous. Am I confusing you? You’ll soon know what I’m talking about. But first, here’s what MissMalini was up to at the start of the day.
As you know MissMalini is mentoring the bloggers, which means that she will be keeping a close eye on their work through the show. The morning began with a session with our blogger-in-chief and the blogger contestants. She gave them some key notes and advice on what it takes to be a great blogger. This is a sneak peek at what happened at the MissMalini mentoring session with #BeautyNBlogger.
The bloggers were advised to keep the conversation going. Never stop blogging, even if it’s through mediums like Twitter and Instagram.
A blogger told MissMalini that sometimes it’s difficult to keep blogging, as their battery runs out or the Internet connection is spotty. MissMalini told them that they need to invest extra “juice” through portable chargers and battery packs. Getting all the tools to help your phone, laptop and camera stay alive is key for a blogger!
There were a few bloggers having trouble connecting with “fashion” as they were political and food bloggers. MissMalini told them to get thinking and find ways to make things interesting. “Speak in ways to involve your followers into the conversation in fun ways”. And we all know that having a good sense of humour in the post always helps!
But the most popular tip that the bloggers loved was the use of Topsy. It’s a great way to keep track of tweets that do well, and helps one to get an idea of what works. And MissMalini told all the bloggers to share and retweet posts from fellow bloggers. It’s always good to share, no?
And now, *DrumRolls*, it’s time for the details on the task, “Ramp Camp”. It was framed around a series of obstacles that the teams had to perform through in minimum time. On stage one, the blogger in the team had to walk the ramp and hula-hoop at the middle. They then had to fish out the goodie bag with beauty products by TRESemme and Lakme to the ‘beauty’ to continue on to the next stage.
The beauty then proceeds to the next stage where she has to burst water balloons hanging overhead. The only clause was that her hands have to be behind and she can only use the long pin provided, by holding it in her mouth to burst the balloons.
The blogger then has to take the team forward by running and crawling trough tyres. IT was pretty funny to watch them, I must say!
The beauty then had to take a ‘dirty fall’ into a mud patch and crawl her way out of it. There were lines of tiny flags that made sure that the she was down on the patch, and she had to get muddy!
The beauty now had to wash out all the mud with the help of her blogger. She then had to quickly head to a tent where she changed into a dry stylish outfit and head to the beauty station to get dolled up.
From here, the final stage included the beauty headed to the tent where she changes into a stylish outfit. Then, her blogger helps her get dolled using products from TRESemme and Lakme for a cool look for pictures.
