Rakesh Trivedi and Vimmi Saluja, Bunty and Babli, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee. 9 years ago on 27th May, this was what the world was talking about. Bunty Aur Babli released and it wasn’t too long before the raving reviews about the film did the rounds.
Today, 9 years later, let’s go over what we loved so much about Bunty Aur Babli. Here are 5 things we loved:
1. Rani’s wardrobe
Do you remember the gorgeous and colorful patiala salwars with the multi-coloured kurtas or even the different avatars she donned for the cons? Rani’s look in this film was brilliantly connected to the shades of her character and it made her look more interesting and bubbly.
2. Rani and Abhishek’s crackling chemistry
That time and before that time, everyone agreed how good Rani and Abhishek look together and how much they really should be a couple. At least for the film, that worked in their favour because the duo stole hearts with their chemistry and made the film the success that it was.
3. Kajra Re
Never again (Never say Never, but still) will you see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan doing a raunchy item number with Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan the way Kajra Re happened. This song managed to be on every playlist and still receives favourable response if played at DJ nights.
4. “You can kiraye pe lease it” and other quotes
Some very funny dialogues, some not so funny but hilarious lines because of the way they were said like “Jahan se yeh shalgam gobi ke achaar wala scent aaya hai” or “Mr Q.Q Q-reshi”. Rani made everything fun!
5. The cons
Which one was your favourite con? I loved the scene when they conned Q.Q Qureshi, the one with the Center One robbery and of course, the much loved Taj Mahal being sold scene. What craziness!
