Imran Khan left Twitter a long time ago, claiming that anonymity gave people the chance to say things that they never would to your face. He had also gone on record to say that he didn’t want people to know about his activities 24×7 and prefers personal interaction. Since he deactivated his account ages ago, the actor has stayed away from the social networking site – therefore, any account that you now see using his name is a fake.
There’s one called @ImranKhanSpeaks that’s floating around, and it has already amassed a large number of followers. It looks like the first tweet was posted late last night, claiming that he has decided to tweet again. The first tweet read, “Finally decided to tweet.. Woh bhi at 2:30 am !! Let’s see how it goes then:)” This was followed up by another tweet saying, “Ya guys.. I’m back I’m back! Hahaha hopefully this time I’ll manage to stay on twitter! I mean, it can get too far at times but let’s see.”
Funnily enough, his uncle, Aamir Khan, was being impersonated on Instagram just a few days ago as well. The actor had to finally send out a tweet alerting everyone that he’s not on the site.
However, Imran called up to inform us that this account is definitely a fake one and he is not on Twitter. If he does ever decide to rejoin – which doesn’t seem to be happening – we’ll let you know for sure. So in the meantime, be wary of fakes. :)
