The courtyard was packed to the hilt, as the crowd sang along to the film’s hit numbers and chanted the famous Aye Villain dialogue from the promos. Ankit Tiwari sang his chartbusting Galliyan track solo and followed it up with its unplugged version. Shraddha Kapoor obviously joined him for the unplugged and received a thunderous applause when she came on stage. Mohd. Irfan rendered his hit Banjaara number while Mithoon and Irfan rendered Zaroorat on behalf of Mustafa Zahid, who was unable to come down from Pakistan. The awesome music of the film live on stage was a treat!

How could the event be complete without Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra? The actors made a dazzling entry in their hood and smiley mask, amid fireworks and deafening roars from the ecstatic audience. Everyone is eager to know who the Villain is, but no one’s telling, of course! When asked whether Riteish or Sidharth was the villain, the former laughed and said: “The real villains are Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri.

Meanwhile, there is some more scoop on the music of Ek Villain. Singer-composer Raju Singh and Mohit came together again for the background session of the film at Raju Singh’s studio at his Juhu bungalow, Sangeet. They are friends since Mohit’s first film, Zeher. To add to that, Mohit was so impressed by the depth and emotional quotient of Shraddha’s voice in the trailer that he decided to take her voice beyond the song. He convinced singer-composer Raju Singh to integrate her voice in the background score!

“In Ek Villain, the background holds a very important part as it is the love story of a villain, and one needs to keep the darkness in the romance element as well,” explains Raju Singh. He went on to say, “Mohit has amazing music sense. And I felt this even with his first film Zeher and all his movies till date. His sensitivity towards portrayal of relationships never ceases to amaze me. This time, Mohit mentioned Shraddha and the moment I heard Shraddha’s voice, I knew here was a singer with amazing potential.”
