We told you yesterday that Drashti Dhami was dropped as the host of season 7 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, after having shot only six episodes (two of which will air this weekend). It seems like it was a rather sudden and unceremonious decision too, as the actress had said that the decision was communicated to her on Thursday night by the channel – just a little while before she took to Twitter to announce the news for her fans. Drashti also laments that her stint had to end so abruptly.
We asked you yesterday who you think should replace Drashti as the host, and now it seems like the channel has gone ahead and roped in Manish Paul, who was the host on the last season of the show. From the looks of it, Ranvir Shorey is still a host – according to reports, audience feedback suggested that they wanted Manish and Kapil Sharma to reprise their roles, but since Kapil was busy with his show, he couldn’t do it. So for now, it looks like Manish will be joining Ranvir on the stage.
Can’t help but feel a bit sad for Drashti, since she did seem excited for her role as a host (remember, she was last season’s winner as well). However, it is what it is – here’s wishing the actress all the best for the future; she definitely has fans who have her back!
Psst! It looks like she might head off on a European vacation. Fellow television actress and this season’s contestant, Kritika Kamra, tweeted her best wishes and urged her to take that time off:
What do you think of this decision?
