5 Never Seen Before Bollywood Moments In 2014!

It’s July, and we are officially past the first half of the year. There have been a couple of big releases, and some films really did well too. But what’s more special about this year is the new things we got to see in films, other than just the regular stories where there’s love, dance and other jazz. So we decided to recollect these awesome and refreshing things from a couple of films in 2014. Check them out!

1. Because Everything Is Not About A Female Lead, And Definitely Not About An Item Song.

Filmistaan

Filmistaan was a tribute to Bollywood, and what’s special about this film is that it depicted what it stood for-True Bolly love. There was no unnecessary female lead, or any item songs for ‘entertainment’ or whatsoever. That’s what actually entertained the audience!

2. Husband Or No Husband, Never Give Up The Chance To Go On Your Honeymoon!

Queen

So what if the jerk left her a couple of days before their wedding? Rani had tickets to Paris and Amsterdam, and she took off! This is somehow the perfect example of “When life gives you lemons, grab the vodka.” Which she pretty much did *wink*

3. Credits Are Important, And Only A Confident Film Can Credit The Original Film 6 Times!

Citylights

Filmmakers often deny having adapted films from foreign films, trying to justify how their film is ‘different’ from the XYZ original. Citylights did just the opposite. They credited the original film Metro Manila 6 times. And well, being an adaptation made no difference to the film’s success because Citylights was loved!

4. Sometimes, You Need A Serious Shock To Realise What You Want To Do With Your Life.

Highway

No, we’re not in support of kidnapping here! All I’m trying to point out here is that sometimes, the worst experiences in life can actually teach us what we are really made of, what we really want to do. What Veera learnt from the worst nightmare of her life changed her for good, didn’t it?

5. Marriage Is Indeed Between Two Families, Not Two People.

2 States

Krish bought rings for Ananya’s family. The message lies right there. Marriage proposals with the guy on one knee and the girl all teary eyed is okay, but we’re from that culture where our family’s approval matters. And if this is how a boy proposes, no family can say no!

Tell us, what have you learnt so far from the movies this year? We would love to know! xoxo
