Remember the announcement made earlier that Rohit Shetty had been brought on board by Karan Johar‘s production house, Dharma Productions? At that time, Karan had even gone on record to say that he admires Rohit as a filmmaker and a person, and his track record as a director speaks for itself. They hadn’t divulged anything about the project back then, saying that a formal announcement would be made once Rohit wrapped up his other commitments.
However, I have heard that their collaboration is no longer happening. Rohit, it seems, has returned his cheque to Karan. Instead, word has it that Shah Rukh Khan will now be the one producing Rohit’s project. It seems like the director’s loyalty towards SRK had a lot to do with the change in production houses – especially since there’s supposed to be some tension between SRK and KJo.
Guess we’ll have to wait to hear formal announcements!
