There’s a lot we liked about the Finding Fanny trailer, but Ranveer Singh‘s cameo is amongst our favourite bits. Turns out, the actor didn’t charge anything for his role in this Deepika Padukone/Arjun Kapoor starrer, and did it instead because of his personal equation with director Homi Adajania. Homi himself went on record to say that Ranveer’s decision to do the role was rather spontaneous:

Homi Adajania says:

“Ya! Ranveer is a friend man, so he did it for a laugh! We were sitting around and I was telling him the story of Finding Fanny and he said I’ll play Gabo (the character) – he was laughing but was dead serious. I told him that I’d need him in Goa for half a day of shoot but we all had so much fun that he ended up staying for over a week after he was done. Ranveer’s energy is infectious and when the material is right I know we’ll be able to create some magic in a film someday.”

From whatever we’ve seen so far, it really does look like the team had a blast shooting for this movie. Although, we’re going to venture a guess that Ranveer’s extended stay in Goa had a lot to do with a certain Miss Padukone as well. :)

Are you looking forward to Ranveer’s “short-lived” appearance, as Homi likes to refer to it as? (That’s a very accurate – and literal – description, since his character dies very early on.)
