The way things have gone, Bigg Boss might as well rename itself as Bigg Matchmaker. If it weren’t for the mad house, many a couple wouldn’t have seen the light of the day. Through all the seasons, love has somehow always managed to blossom amidst all the cribbing, catfights and drama. While some love stories last even today, some ended almost immediately after their Bigg Boss season concluded. Let’s take a walk down memory lane and revisit the contestants who found love in this hopeless place.
1. Anupama Verma and Aryan Vaid
The first couple of the Bigg Boss house was formed in the first season of the series itself. Models Anupama Verma and Aryan Vaid formed a connection that lasted for a bit even after both were out of the house. However, the relationship couldn’t stand the test of time and that gave rise to speculation that it was there strategy to get more votes as couple.
2. Payal Rohatgi and Rahul Mahajan
Buzz was that Rahul and Payal were dating each other before they entered the Bigg Boss house in season 2. They would massage each other in the house and grope each other in the swimming pool. Except, Mahajan suddenly shifted loyalties and started pursuing Monica Bedi!
3. Monica Bedi and Rahul Mahajan
To everyone’s surprise, Rahul started flirting with Monica and started to ignore Payal. He even proposed marriage to Bedi sometime during the show; a proposal she declined.
4. Diana Hayden and Ashutosh
This couple was a clear case of opposites attract and seemed much more genuine than the others. It was season 2 that saw these two getting close; however, nothing substantial was heard of them once the show ended.
5. Veena Mallik and Ashmit Patel
The two met in the 4th season of the reality show and slowly but surely grabbed a lot of headlines because of their constant PDA. However, the cuddling and subsequent relationship fizzled out a little after the show ended.
6. Sara Khan and Ashmit Patel
Before Ashmit-Veena happened in full swing, Ashmit and Sara Khan were supposed to be the couple as they were inseparable! It was only when Sara left (only to come back later) that Ashmit swiftly moved on to Mallik. Funnily enough, on returning to the house, Sara started referring to Ashmit as her brother.
7. Sara Khan and Ali Merchant
So with all the badalte rishte in the house in season 4, Sara’s apparent ex Ali Merchant (whose pictures she tore in the house) came to the house and asked her to marry him. They had a wedding in the Bigg Boss house! When the marriage did not last over two months, it was said that the wedding was infact a publicity stunt and the duo was paid 50 lakhs each for it!
8. Pooja Bedi and Sky
In season 5, Bedi and Sky hit it off almost instantly and remain one of the few couples that survived even outside the house. The two are still very much together and Sky proudly sports a tattoo of his ladylove’s name on his bicep.
9. Sana Khan and Rajeev Paul
In season 6, the growing fondness between Rajeev and Sana raised many eyebrows, especially since Paul’s ex wife Delnaz Irani was also in the same house. The two always denied being involved and they continue to be friends till this date.
10. Sana Khan and Vishal Karwal
In the house, though, there was a time when Sana moved on from Rajeev to wild card entrant Vishal Karwal.
11. Karishma Kotak and Vishal Karwal
Sana and Vishal bonded well in the beginning. However, it came as a rude shock to Sana when Vishal was slowly seen shifting loyalties to model Karishma Kotak. The two are rumoured to be dating still and are apparently looking to marry soon.
12. Gauhar Khan and Kushal Tandon
The last season of Bigg Boss saw not one but two couples; Gauhar and Kushal being one of them. One was never seen without the other and Kushal even made claims on the show of wanting to grow old with Gauhar. The lovely couple is still very much together and is thankfully growing strong.
13. Tanisha Mukherjee and Armaan Kohli
In season 7, Tanisha and Armaan too got very close and stuck by each other through thick and thin. Even now, the couple is apparently engaged in spite of opposition from Tanisha’s family. They’ve been in the news often courtesy their romantic getaways. Well, it might be safe to say that Tanisha-Armaan are on their way to become the the Kim-Kanye of the poor; famous for no reason!
