Last week, we told you about Shah Rukh Khan getting police protection due to threats from an underworld gangster. In just a couple of days, actors Boman Irani and Sonu Sood have also fallen prey to the same. The incident started when film producer Ali Morani received extortion calls, with a group of unidentified men firing four rounds outside his residence.

A senior police official told a leading daily that the 3 Idiots actor, Boman Irani has allegedly received threats from the same gangster and has been given police protection, while the matter is currently under investigation. He also added that all the calls have been made using Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), which is difficult to trace.

Reports suggest that the gangster is interested in the overseas rights of SRK’s upcoming film and has hence contacted the people related to the film. Next in line to receive threatening messages was actor Sonu Sood, who has now asked for police protection. With these recent developments, reports claim that the Mumbai police has now decided to provide security to the entire cast of Happy New Year and even those who have received extortion calls from the gangster in the last three years.
