I have been crushing on Arjun Kapoor ever since he made his Bollywood debut with Ishaqzaade. Of course, I loved his on and off-screen camaraderie with Parineeti Chopra. But their bond also left me green with envy. It didn’t have much affect on me when he was cast opposite newbie Sashaa Agha in his second release, Aurangzeb, as they both had no chemistry between them whatsoever. And then in Gunday, his bromance with Ranveer Singh stole way more thunder than his on-screen equation with Priyanka Chopra did.
But his pairing with Alia Bhatt in 2 States and now, Deepika Padukone in Finding Fanny definitely made me want to root for each of these duos. Both the on-screen jodis look absolutely stunning together. What do you think, guys?
Up next is his action-romance drama, Tevar opposite Sonakshi Sinha. Naturally, I can’t help but wonder what kind of rapport these two share and whether it will translate on celluloid or not.
So I decided to quiz a close friend of Sona about the same. When asked about Shotgun Jr.’s equation with Arjun, she says, “Sonakshi and Arjun are neighbours. They were also in the same school. So they knew of each other since their childhood days but they were never really friends as such. Sona knew him more as Sonam (Kapoor)’s cousin back then. It’s only now that they are getting to know each other so closely. But since they’ve grown up in the same vicinity and have many common friends, they got quite comfortable with each other in absolutely no time. During the shoot, they always fool around and keep playing pranks on each other! I’m sure they would make for an interesting on-screen pair.”
I couldn’t agree more to that! Childhood acquaintances who grew up to be each other’s co-stars in Bollywood. Isn’t that quite cool?
