After Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani, it’s Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom which is garnering praises from all quarters. And despite being busy riding high in the success of her latest outing, PeeCee took out some time and wrote a handwritten letter to her Gunday co-star Arjun Kapoor, who’s currently awaiting the release of his upcoming flick Finding Fanny.
According to a report, her note read, “To Fubu aka Arjun. Happy Happy Ingliss Friday! Fanny looks amazing. Love. Priyanka Chopra.” In return, he thanked her by posting on a social networking site, “That’s why Priyanka Chopra is one of the coolest people around… A hand written note in the time of SMS and emails.” Now, aren’t these two oh so adorable?
Coming back to Mary Kom, clearly, the fate of women-centric films in Indian cinema has improved drastically over the last few years. While eminent Bollywood personalities like Aamir Khan and Rekha had come forward to support Rani’s Mardaani, PeeCee has found her new admirers in the B-town couple, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. Both of them were seen showering praises at Mary Kom on a social networking site. Shilpa wrote, “Jus Saw #MaryKom all actors performed so well but @priyankachopra u rocked it. Omung’s done a fab job. Cried my eyeballs out. Must watch tweetos.” And her hubby posted something similar too,“The real star of #marykom in her real life is Onler. Family support is all you need! And in Reel life @priyankachopra u made my wife cry.” The kind of performance Piggy Chops has delivered in this biopic, she deserves all the appreciation coming her way.
However, bad news for the talented actress is that the movie isn’t being screened in Manipur, which happens to be the home ground of the boxing champion. Since September, Bollywood flicks are banned in Manipur by separatist militant group as they believe that Hindi movies are against their Manipuri values. Naturally, both Priyanka and Mary Kom herself are rather upset about this news.
Another B-town celeb who has been upset for quite some time is none other than the smoking hot Arjun Rampal. There were reports which suggested that he had a tiff with his Rajneeti co-star Ranbir Kapoor, with whom he’s also going to be seen in Roy. Apparently, that’s because Rampal happens to be the lead actor in the movie and RK Jr. only makes a special appearance in it.
However, a lot more attention and prominence was being given to the Kapoor lad and that’s what rubbed Rampal the wrong way. But the actor has finally clarified that there’s no animosity between the two of them. Now that he has cleared the air, we really hope to see the two hotties on screen together soon. We wonder when that is going to happen as the movie’s release date has been postponed a multiple times. Roy also stars Jacqueline Fernandez.
