Tamannaah

Though she had two back to back Hindi releases in the form of Humshakals and Entertainment, she hadn’t signed any new Hindi film. Hence, one wondered about her career plans ahead. However, Tamannaah Bhatia continues to be one busy girl. She is back in the South shooting for as many as three films, which are in different stages of production, hence ensuring that she will be pretty much occupied for next 10-12 months at the least.

One is a Telugu film Aagadu where she is opposite none other than superstar Mahesh Babu. Even bigger is her bilingual film (in Tamil and Telugu) Baahubali which is pitched as the biggest and the costliest film to be coming out of the South. It is directed by S.S. Rajamouli whose Vikramarkudu and Maryada Ramanna were remade as Rowdy Rathore and Son of Sardaar while another blockbuster Magadheera is set to be made in Hindi too. In addition, Tamannaah is also doing this yet untitled film that has another superstar Arya.

While it is obvious that she has her hands full and doesn’t quite have to depend on Bollywood in order to be in circulation, Tamannaah is keeping her options open as far as Hindi films are concerned. However, one thing is for sure that her next won’t be a run-of-the-mill affair where all she would be required to do is gyrate on a couple of songs and perform on three or four comic scenes.

“That is something definitely on my mind,” says Tamannaah without mincing any words, “As an actor I would definitely like to do something different and not repeat myself. If I do not get any satisfaction then what’s the point? I won’t be seen in the same genre where I have already done any particular kind of roles.”

Considering the fact that she has a good repertoire of films down South where she has managed to showcase her acting skills, Tamannaah is trying to let the message go loud and clear to the makers in Bollywood that there is more to her than what meets the eye.

“That’s where the media comes into play. I am quite sure that there must be somebody out there reading this piece and looking out for someone who can bring on a credible act on screen,” she quips before signing off.
