At Ritika Bharwani’s launch of her Autumn/Winter’14 collection, happiness came in the form of a butterfly. The unveiling cocktail party hosted by Ritika and Carol Gracias caught a glimpse of a number of guests from the fashion sorority like Isha Koppikar, Sarah Jane Dias, Shonali Nagrani among others.
MissMalini also attended the event in full support of Ritika’s new collection interestingly inspired from the enigmatic butterflies that originated in the surroundings of the Iguazu Falls.
The AW collection named Wings Of Desire, aptly suited her collection. It saw designs that illustrated optical illusions created by the wings of a butterfly in the form of cocktail gowns, dresses, capes, crop-top with butterfly motifs and trousers created in wearable sheer, flow-y fabrics.
The most fascinating piece from Ritika’s new futuristic and edgy line was the cocoon shaped cut-out dress with an embellished butterfly on the neckline. Apart from this, the collection also had a varied colour palette from oxblood, scarlet and navy to black and beige embracing hints of silver and gold suitable for the upcoming winter festive season.
On the whole, Ritika’s collection was one of a kind, with miraculous butterfly motifs while highlighting minimalist designs enhanced with technology inspired 3D prints and more.
