F.R.I.E.N.D.S turned 20, you guys! I still can’t believe how long it’s been since I saw the first episode! Rachel in her wedding dress, Joey with his fluffy hair, Phoebe being Phoebe and, of course, Ross discovering that his wife Carol is a lesbian! Honestly, the show just got better with time. Credit where it’s due should be given to the main cast, but no one can deny that F.R.I.E.N.D.S also ruled our hearts because of the amazing supporting characters. So well fleshed out, so hilarious, and so memorable! Here’s my list of the best supporting friends (not necessarily friends) of the main F.R.I.E.N.D.S because one can never have too many friends! Yay!
1) Janice
I mean, where do I even begin with Janice Goralnik? Where? The time when she exclaimed her tagline ‘Oh My God’ for the first time? Or the time when Chandler had to remain in Yemen just to get rid of her?
Janice is by far the funniest supporting character to have been on this show, and is also one of the most influential one! If Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Rachel’ hairdo got famous, then the ‘Janice laughter’ was equally infamous! Best part? Seeing her when Rachel was about to have a baby!
2) Gunther
Ah Gunther, with hair brighter than the sun and love for Rachel greater than Romeo had for Juliet!
He loves Rachel so much that he bought her cat. The same cat whose purr sounded like she was whispering ‘Rachel’ in Gollum’s voice!

3) Jack and Judy Geller
Well, the Gellers were inappropriate and quite crazy. I totally get why Monica disliked her mum! Judy Geller was basically the less drunk version of Lucille Bluth and Jack was just…Jack!
This was at Judy’s mother funeral.
All the madness aside, they were a lot of fun to watch especially when they blatantly favoured Ross for being the ‘medical miracle’ over poor old Monica. I mean if that wasn’t enough, Monica once also heard them do it. Ew.
4) Richard
So handsome, so inappropriate, yet so perfect. Thank God he grew his moustache back though! Richard and Monica weren’t meant to be…because if there’s a Chandler who would need a Richard amiright?
Love you too Richard but #TeamChandlerForever (sorry #TeamGunther)
5) Carol and Susan
For the first time, I was so involved in the life of a lesbian couple, and it was awesome! I know I’ve taken a very serious route with this point but I’ll always remain thankful to F.R.I.E.N.D.S for opening my eyes and making me far more liberal than I ever thought I could be. Having said that, Carol and Susan were awesome and their wedding was gorgeous! One of the first stable couples of the show 🙂

6) Ugly Naked Guy
The best view the six of them could ever ask for. Also Ross, good way to get the apartment!
7) Chandler’s Parents
You see Chandler’s issues seem totally legit after having one look at his parents! But barring the fact that Nora Tyler Bing kissed Ross and that Charles Bing also goes by the name Helena Handbasket, I think these two were one of the best supporting cast members the show has had!
8) Estelle Leonard
I see my future in Estelle. Really!
9) Mr. Heckles
Okay I think I see my future in Mr Heckles. Love the fact that his surname is Heckles and also that the gang discovered that Heckles was a rather cool guy in this youth. We especially love that Chandler saw himself in Mr. Heckles too!
Our similarities refuse to end. (Chandler and mine)
10) MIKE!
Call him crap bag, call him the only one who totally ‘gets’ Phoebe or call him the table tennis champion, Mike Hannigan is the BEST supporting character F.R.I.E.N.D.S has had! I’m so glad Phoebe ended up with such a perfect guy!
