I still cannot get over how beautifully Farhan Akhtar sang yesterday at the launch of his new music video in support of his campaign MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) in partnership with the HWGO (Helping Women Get Online) initiative.
He is easily one of the most talented actors we have in the industry today and the guy has never shied away from exploring new facets of the world of cinema. We’ve seen the multifaceted star donning various hats as an actor, singer, scriptwriter, director and also a producer in the past.
And guess what? Now, the Bollywood heartthrob has decided to foray into regional cinema. Yes, that’s right! Farhan will soon be seen acting in a Marathi movie. Apparently, the actor was extremely keen on taking up a Marathi project for a while now. That’s because he truly believes that Marathi cinema is very different from Hindi films and it would help him grow as an actor.
Finally, he has zeroed down on a script that will mark his debut in Marathi flicks and that’s going to be a movie called Por Bazaar. Farhan, who will be seen in a special appearance in the film, was so impressed after reading its script that he instantly gave a nod to it.
Previously, we’ve also seen actors like Riteish Deshmukh and Salman Khan in Marathi films.
While we are glad that the Marathi Film Industry will soon be honoured to have Farhan in it, Bollywood definitely misses him as a director! Remember Lakshya, Dil Chahta Hai and Don 2? Don’t we all need more films like this? Let me know if you echo my thoughts on this or not by dropping a comment below!
