Inspired by the majestic inheritance of Kolkata, Adarsh Makharia devoted his brand, OSAA’s fall winter 2014 collection to ‘An Evening at Marble Palace’. Displaying the magnificence of the palace the collection featured exclusive contemporary pieces such as cigarette pants, short jackets, saris, tunics, anarkalis, lehengas and stoles.

Every piece was well defined to highlight the brilliance of the 19th century Marble Palace. The designer fashioned a blend of ready-to-wear and elegant couture wear in the form of a diffusion line showcasing pure glamour for the festive season.

On the account of his new collection, Adarsh Makharia (Creative Director, OSAA) expressed, “We are delighted to introduce a collection that is steeped in heritage yet very fashionable. At OSAA we try to bring to the fore Indian textiles and embroidery with a contemporary touch. With this collection, we have created a distinct look for the Fall/Winter season”.

As simple as it may sound, the diffusion attribute is the most thought-provoking part of a clothing line. When asked as to what was the most challenging part in creating one, Adarsh didn’t hesitate to say, “ Keeping it simple”. The OSAA collection was designed keeping in mind the exclusivity of a couture collection and the simplicity of an ethnic ready-to-wear garment. The collection enigmatically showcased sheer fabrics such as organza textured silk, tissue and matka with intricate hand embroidery and beautiful embellishments that were creatively used to create the garments.

The colour palette ran in a number of vibrant festive colours of yellow, pink, indigo, black and white, defining the beauty of Kolkata and its marble mansion.
