We told you earlier today that Bang Bang was all set to be in the list of the 5 biggest openers of all time, and that has indeed happened. The film has collected 27.54 crores nett in day one, pushing out Kick from the #5 spot. Remember we told you that was likely to happen? 🙂
So now, the top 5 openers in Bollywood are as follows: Dhoom 3, Chennai Express, Ek Tha Tiger, Singham Returns and Bang Bang. What this means is that Bang Bang is also now Hrithik Roshan‘s biggest opener till date, crossing Krrish 3‘s opening figure (25.5 crore nett). The actor, we hear, is thrilled that he’s broken his own record.
Hrithik Roshan says:
“That is so cool. Opening higher than a franchise film like Krrish 3 and beating my own record is one way to realize my own growth and strength. But after that it’s not about me, I’m just glad I’ve been able to entertain my audience. And the entire credit for this humongous success goes to the whole starcast, the entire crew and especially to the director Sid Anand. I stand here in gratitude.”
Not only that, but Katrina Kaif herself now has three films in the top 5 openers – Dhoom 3, Ek Tha Tiger and Bang Bang. Awesome!
