This long weekend isn’t like any other long one. Instead of jet-setting out of town, the people of the city have descended upon the Palladium Hotel for the Myntra Fashion Weekend that’s taking place as I type this. We already told you about 10 things you can’t miss during the weekend and even gave you a chance to WIN some passes. Since Day 1 ended yesterday, here are a few highlights that might keep you up to date, incase you missed it.
Fashion Became Musical At Rina Dhaka’s Fall Trends Show
Rina Dhaka curated a collection from Myntra’s brands, Bhoemia and Neo-Ethnic to present a collection that showcased the trends for the season. With multi-instrumental musician, Raghav Sachhar serenading the models as they strutted down the runway, the show ended with one of the most beautiful women in the universe, Sushmita Sen.
Street Style Swim Wear at Shivan & Narresh
Known for their colour-blocking, graphic prints and a whole lot of stripes, the models at Shivan & Narresh sashayed down the runway in beautiful poolside cover ups, tankinis, bikinis all designed as a special line for Stylista. What we loved most were the vibrant pops of colour.
Masaba’s Basics
Masaba‘s collection for Stylista consisted of four prints to signify the basic man – the knife, the television, the typewriter and bicycle. These were thrown on skater dresses, kurtas, crop tops and pants making the collection everyday wearable.
Monica Dogra Made Men The Centre Of Attention
Monica Dogra‘s show for Stylista ended on a note we wish all shows ended. Three shirtless male models escorted the designer/showstopper Monica down the runway and gave out CDs of her latest music video. She told us why she did it, but you’re going to have to wait to watch MissMalini’s World on TLC to find out what she says. The rest of the collection gave out a very effortless, rocker girl vibe.
The Director Who Turned Designer
Well I mean Karan Johar of course. You’ve already seen his collection for Vero Moda and he showcased it once more with a change in the showstopper. Dia Mirza took to the ramp and finished off his clean, sparkly and lust-worthy collection.
A Ray Of Sunshine At Pria Kataaria Puri
It’s not everyday you see your own boss strut down the runway! Pria Kataaria Puri had 5 celebrity bloggers open the show and one of them was none other that our very own, MissMalini! In a pair of sequinned shorts and a bright one shoulder top, she walked down the runway showcasing Pria’s Boho Luxe collection. As the ramp looked like rays of sunshine with all the bright colours, Pria showcased her ideal resort wear line.
Bling, Bling and More Bling
Raakesh Agarvwal‘s sparkly but dare to bare collection isn’t for the faint hearted. With exaggerated shoulders, leather, a whole lot of metal and a slightly S&M vibe, the collection is something we can’t wait to see on our Bollywood brigade.
