After the showcase of a fabulous Day 1 at the Myntra Fashion Weekend, Day 2 saw actors teaching us how to take a perfect selfie, while top-notch designers/stylists curated shows that mirrored busy streets where models played the role of fashion pedestrians. Here’s what Day 2 had in store, in case you missed it.
Print Riots & Selfies Galore
Day 2 opened with actress Kalki Koechlin giving ramp lessons on how to nail a print clash (she took a selfie with the paparazzi too!), while funny man, Cyrus Broacha strutted his stuff in a superman tee matched with a maroon checked lungi. Celebrity stylist Ami Patel worked her magic on Myntra.com brands Indigo and Print Clash and the result was complete print madness – we <3.
More Power!
Anita Dongre chose power over pretty for her collection. Sheer panels, crop tops, bomber jackets and pleated skirts had the models storming down the runway in ensembles that exuded authority and a welcome air of sophisticated chic.
Models In The Crowd
Exclusively curated by ace designer Aki Narula, models at the show started out mixed in the audience. The show featuring Huemn, Ikai, Quirk Box, Yogesh Chaudhary and Karishma Shahni Khan saw visually stunning 3D prints, mixed fabrics with leather embellishments while the wrap-around maxi made a comeback to the runway along with kitsch androgyny making strong style statements.
Earthy Hues
From the Indian basic to the international countryside, influences of rural, even rustic living were all over the fall runways. Global Desi showed the desi girl how to wear fall’s rustic style with traditional embellishments and earthy colours such as terracotta and sand in contrast, keeping India’s colour play alive.
While some designers played with menswear inspirations, others made it tailored and chic so that femininity stayed firmly in the equation. Day 2 had some great looks that inspired along with food, fashion and music to define the day.
Stay tuned for updates on Day 3.
