Ayushmann Khurrana is the jack of many trades. From starting out in a reality show to anchoring to acting to singing, Khurrana has played all these roles rather impressively. His hit single from 2012, Paani Da Rang (Vicky Donor) is still a popular number with fans, while 2013’s Saadi Gali Aaja (Nautanki Saala) was also a chart topper for a long time, despite the film’s poor performance at the Box Office. Now, the singer composer duo of Ayushmann and Rochak Kohli – who were responsible for the previous two hits – are back with yet another beautiful song, Mitti Di Khushboo.
Ayushmann’s song is soulful and his voice just adds magic to the Punjabi lyrics, doing it full justice. It’s been a while since we heard Ayushmann sing so this is definitely a treat for fans. Even though Khurrana has often gone on record to say that he wants to be known as an ‘actor who also sings’ instead of a ‘singer who also acts’, we don’t think he should let his singer avatar take a backseat just yet.
The song also features the fabulous Huma Qureshi, who looks stunning in some shots. Her chemistry with Ayushmann in the video is fresh and surprisingly crackling. She is seen wearing Indian outfits in the video as the part of the song featuring her is seemingly set in Punjab. From the looks of it, Ayushmann (who looks sharp in a hat and trenchcoat), is reminiscing about his romance from the past.
What we love about the video the most is that the audience is left to take home their own conclusion about what might have happened between the lead characters. Clearly a lot of time has been spent in the scripting process of the video.
Tell us how you like the song and its video! Should Ayushmann and Huma totally do a movie together soon, given their chemistry?
