I just got back to Bombay and the city seems to have somehow transformed into one giant oven swarming with people, cars, sweat, noises, and more sweat. Maybe it hasn’t transformed so much and I’ve just been away a very long time, plus being welcomed with heat can be pretty overwhelming. For starters, it does absolutely nothing for a fresh face of makeup in the morning. In fact, it does the exact opposite. I look like a hot mess even before I’ve stepped into the AC controlled office at 10 AM every morning.
We’ve got to find a way to beat this heat, which is why I’ll be posting a couple of easy-to-remember tips every now and then, so that your makeup face keeps from sliding off. And I will continue to do so till this weather decides to be a little kinder. Are you with me girls?
Kajal Smudging
Tip #1
Line your lash line as well as your waterline because your waterline has water, duh. Lining your lash line will keep the kajal from trickling down.
Tip #2
Use a smudge-proof/waterproof kohl pencil. My favourite one has to be Maybelline’s Colossal Kajal. It glides on great and stays put.
Tip #3
This is a tricky one, but please refrain from rubbing your eyes. Eye rubbing combined with stickiness and sweat equals Halloween-ready, not in a sexy way.
Tip #4
Go over your lash line with a little bit of black eyeshadow (or any eyeshadow that’s close enough in colour) using a pencil brush to keep the line intact.
Tip #5
Apply mascara to your lower lashes as well. It acts as another barrier to help your kohl last all day, plus it’ll open up your eyes.
