For the new releases of the week, it was nothing short of a nightmare as Spark and Jigariyaa sank without a trace. Tamanchey couldn’t do any better while Ekkees Topon Ki Salaami, despite good reviews, couldn’t fetch much of an audience. With a better promotional drive, the Anupam Kher drive could have done better while Tamanchey too could have fetched some audience had the release been better spread out.
The film that took advantage of an almost open week was Bang Bang that brought home around 30 crore more in its second week. The film has shown decent hold at the box office and now stands at 168 crore. While it had earlier seemed that the film would fold in 160-170 crore range, the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer would now surpass the 175 crore mark, hence turning out to be a good success.
Haider too continued to hang on and is now Shahid Kapoor‘s second highest grosser ever. With a total that stands a little below the 55 crore mark, Haider may just about fetch some more moolah in its third week. One had expected a better hold at the box office though after glowing reviews but still, for a niche affair like the one put together by Vishal Bhardwaj, it is a decent enough total.
