Sanjay Gupta may be shouting off the roof tops about his next film, Jazbaa, with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. But a source tells me that the road leading to the launch of the film is not as smooth as the filmmaker may have hoped!
Buzz is that Ash isn’t happy with the final draft of the film, and has asked for several changes to be made. She also wasn’t thrilled that Sanjay gave away the critical story and character sketches to a tabloid. A few weeks ago, in an interview, Sanjay made it known that Aishwarya would play a lawyer and Irrfan would play a suspended cop. Not only that, he also revealed that there won’t be any romance in the film – “but [it] culminates on a note where you get a feeling that Aishwarya and Irrfan’s equation might develop into a relationship later,” the director said.
It seems that recently, Ash had a long conversation with Sanjay where she asked him to lay low and not talk about Jazbaa for a while. If you notice, she even evaded the question with a smile and finger nudge when asked about it at the recent MAMI 2014 open ceremony.
Apparently, Ash wants the film to be dark and edgy, with the songs and commercial elements kept at a minimum. However, Gupta, who is known for his stylish songs and technique, is not willing to let go of this. He was even suggesting an ‘item song’ in the film which stumped Ash, who has asked him to exercise caution on the project.
