Jackie Shroff made his Bollywood debut with Subhash Ghai‘s blockbuster Hero in the ’80s and there hasn’t been any looking back for him since. Decades later, Nikhil Advani is making a remake of the cult with Suraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty – offsprings of Aditya Pancholi and Sunil Shetty respectively – and none other than Salman Khan as the producer (his first Bollywood production).

Well, according to Salman, their Hero remake just wouldn’t be complete without Jackie’s presence in it and hence, Jaggu Dada has been roped in to play the villain of the movie, Pasha – a role played by the late Amrish Puri in the original. How exciting! From hero to a villian… life sure comes full circle.

Jackie politely agreed to Salman’s offer as he is very close to him. Apparently, he’ll be on a 20 day shoot schedule with the leads of the remake. Being part of the film will surely be very nostalgic as it was Hero that established Shroff as a superstar in the industry.

Jackie’s son Tiger Shroff‘s debut Heropanti with Kriti Sanon also had major influences of Hero in it and the film was a major hit of the year. Clearly, the Hero magic worked well for Tiger and Kriti so it remains to be seen if the magic will be recreated by the newest next gen stars of Bollywood.
