They completed seven years in the country and to mark the occasion, Vogue India celebrated by opening the entire country’s eyes. Flipping through the pages of the magazine you’ll come across women in the forefront, basking in the limelight – looking empowered. Vogue Empower is an initiative that calls women’s empowerment to attention and their message is rather simple: It starts with you.

With the iconic red bindi as their symbol, Vogue rounded up ambassadors to take a pledge and help bring about a change in the lives of the women in our country. Amongst these ambassadors are names like Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Homi Adajania and over a hundred other such people – they’re Vogue’s agents of change and here are some of their pledges:

Alia Bhatt and Vikas Bahl already showed us what real men are like here, and Madhuri Dixit sent out another powerful message through this video, here. But that’s not all. Designers like Anita Dongre, Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani and others have pledged ’empowered’ garments from their collection, proceeds from their sale will go to charity and you can shop the collection here. Vogue‘s also tied up with GiveIndia, a charity that works towards the betterment of women and their lives, for which they actively raise funds.
