I had recently done a blog post titled ‘3 Instances When Bollywood’s Angry Young Girl, Parineeti Chopra BLASTED Reporters‘. For those who haven’t read it, it’s about Parineeti Chopra giving a piece of her mind to a few journalists on various occasions for throwing inappropriate questions at her. And it seems Pari’s contemporary, Sonam Kapoor (who’s also known to be very upfront), is a tad impressed by that. The Kapoor girl not only read the post but also shared it on Twitter, lauding Chopra with #respect.
Parineeti was quite delighted to see the tweet and she also replied to Sonam, sending her a virtual hug.
So I just HAD to bring this up when I met Pari at Yash Raj studios yesterday. And she chirped, “Oh, it was your post! I hope you didn’t write anything too bitchy about me. Why have you written ‘blasted’ in caps? I didn’t blast ya. I just firmly replied because they asked such stupid questions. Also, I just remember two such instances. Which was the third one? Show me your post.”
I obliged and quickly showed her the blog post on my phone. She was quite happy to read that we’ve appreciated her for never shying away from speaking her mind. She thanked me for writing the post and Sonam for supporting her by sharing it with her feels. “Nothing feels better than being appreciated by another actress for standing up for things like these,” she said. Plus, she added, “Oh, I now remember the third instance. The reporter asked if I deserved to go on a Food Yatra! Now, if one asks questions like these, of course, I’ll blast na. So yeah, I guess the ‘blasted’ is justified.”
