Every actress believes that the sign of ultimate acceptance in Bollywood is featuring in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. That’s because the filmmaker always projects his leading ladies beautifully in all his larger-than-life movies. Be it Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Devdas or Deepika Padukone in Ram-Leela, we love every Bhansali heroine. So it’s obvious that bagging a project under the Sanjay Leela Bhansali banner is nothing less than a dream for every B-town girl.
Naturally, one-film old Patralekhaa is more than elated to be a part of one such venture. The newbie has been in a steady relationship with actor Rajkummar Rao for several years now. Though Raj got his first break in Love Sex Aur Dhoka and made his mark in the industry much before his ladylove stepped into the world of Hindi cinema, he always knew that Patralekhaa also aspires to be an actress. Both of them have inspired and supported each other in all times and now, finally, both the talented youngsters are making waves in the industry.
When Patralekhaa made her debut opposite her beau in Hansal Mehta‘s City Lights produced by Mahesh Bhatt, it raised many eyebrows and a lot of people said that she has been roped in only because she’s the lead actor’s girlfriend and not on the basis of merit. But she remained undeterred and proved her mettle with her impressive performance in the flick. What’s more, in an interview to Indian Express, she had spoken up and rubbished those rumours. She said, “By saying this… one is questioning Hansal sir, Bhatt sir. I don’t think Fox Star Studios (producer) or anyone will invest so much money in me just because I am Rajkummar’s girlfriend. I don’t think Hansal sir will take that risk because he has to launch Rajkummar’s girlfriend. I have had five rounds of auditions for this film and then I got the role.”
Her acting chops has shut everyone up and also resulted in several big banner films coming her way. But the biggest one is Bhansali’s next production, which is going to be directed by Anuradha Tiwari.
Isn’t it great to know that making it big in Bollywood isn’t far fetched dream for industry outsiders anymore? If you are talented, nothing will stop you from making the cut!
