Okay, so it is now time for the countdown to begin. Only one Khan film, Aamir Khan‘s PK, is remaining for release in 2014 and so far, the biggest success of the year remains Salman Khan‘s Kick. With a non-stop run of seven centuries to his name, Salman has stayed pretty unassailable ever since the release of Dabangg, which released back in 2010. Now that he is the only superstar to have managed such a superb run film after film, one waits to see if he would also emerge triumphant at the close of the year as well.
Says an industry insider:
“Kick has netted 232 crore and is huge by all means. In fact the distance between the Sajid Nadiadwala directed film and the next best, Happy New Year, is huge, especially in India. There has been absolutely nothing that has come even in the close vicinity of Kick. The film’s blockbuster success pretty much conveys that it is the most loved film of the year so far as it is the only film which has managed to march past the 200 crore mark in such a comfortable fashion.”
For all involved with the film, it has been a fantastic year indeed, especially Sajid Nadiadwala who has had a great stint as a producer too with movies like Highway, 2 States and Heropanti doing well. On the other hand, Jacqueline Fernandez‘s career has seen a major push as well after the film as she has now bagged a handful of biggies. While Randeep Hooda established his credibility all over again, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has entered the big league too.

“Salman is now closing the year on a huge high and 2015 looks ultra promising too as his Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo are two distinct biggies waiting to be lapped up by the audience. Sajid is now concentrating on his other productions (Phantom, Tamasha, Sabbir Khan’s next) that are movies to watch out for in 2015, however, for both of them, 2014 is going to be a year to remember.”
Meanwhile, with his sister Arpita getting ready to tie the knot and his relationship with Shah Rukh Khan gaining a reasonable high as well, it can be said for sure that for Salman Khan, abhi toh party shuru hui hai!
