Frankly, according to me, Bollywood is synonymous with the Khan trio. I just cannot imagine Hindi cinema without Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Yes, I admit that I am a die-hard fan of SRK but that doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the most celebrated superstars we’ve ever seen. Salman, too, is loved for his mass appeal. And we all know how beautiful Aamir’s movies are. Basically, each of them have carved their own territories in the industry over the years. I personally don’t think any newcomer can achieve it. At least not so soon.
While Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are potential superstars, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor are also quite promising. On the other hand, we have bigwigs like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. But there’s just something about the three ruling Khans that sets them apart from all their contemporaries.
I am guessing that’s what Aamir thinks too. Here’s what the PK star said at the HT Summit in Delhi.
“I want more stars to be there in Bollywood than just Shah Rukh, Salman and me because that will bring much more healthy competition. As creative people we should encourage young talent so that there are many more stars to choose from, which will make our product more salable and bring new people and also give them a larger choice.”
Here’s hoping that your wish is granted soon, Aamir!
