He’s made some of India’s most memorable films (3 Idiots, Munnabhai MBBS), and now Vidhu Vinod Chopra is all set to go International as well. With his new film, Broken Horses, he becomes the first Indian filmmaker to make a Hollywood production. It’s the first Hollywood film that’s produced, directed and written by an Indian. It’s a big deal and something that we’re definitely excited about, so here’s the good news: the film’s release isn’t too far away – it’s scheduled to be out on April 10th, and will be marketed and distributed in India by Fox Star Studios.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra says:
Making a film in Hollywood was extremely challenging, it’s the first time ever that an Indian has co-written, directed and produced a Hollywood film. But the challenge turned out to be a lot of fun. It was very fulfilling for me as a filmmaker. I am delighted that Fox Star Studios has come on board to market and distribute the film in India.
Set in the shadows of the US–Mexico border gang wars, Broken Horses is an epic thriller about the bonds of brotherhood, the laws of loyalty, and the futility of violence. It’s been co-written by Abhijat Joshi – who has worked with VVC on several films in the past – and stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Anton Yelchin and Chris Marquette. Are you looking forward to it?
